Restaurants1 started with a familiar frustration. Hunting for a waterfront seafood spot in a city you are visiting, or a rooftop place to mark a birthday, usually means opening five tabs and still not getting a straight answer. The big listing sites are great at “restaurants near me,” but they rarely answer the more specific question you actually had in mind.
So we build guides around those specific questions. Each one pairs a setting, such as a rooftop, a patio, a private room, or a waterfront view, with a cuisine and a city, and lists the places that genuinely fit. No endless scroll, no filler.
How we put the guides together
We start from public information: restaurant websites, menus, reservation pages, and listings. From there we note the details that matter for the search at hand, like whether the patio is really outdoors, whether dogs are allowed, and how the room works for a larger group. When a place has clearly closed or changed, we update the guide or take it down.
We are not a booking service, and we do not take payment to rank a restaurant higher. If a place is on one of our lists, it is there because it fits the description.
A note on accuracy
Hours, prices, and policies change often in this business. We do our best to keep things current, but it is always worth checking with the restaurant before you head out, especially for reservations and anything seasonal like rooftop or patio seating.
